Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival: A Festive Evening at Titans Sep 23, 2023

The enchanting glow of the moon, the delightful aroma of mooncakes, and the warmth of family and friends—they all come alive during the Mid-Autumn Festival, a cherished tradition in Chinese culture. This year, our company organized a splendid Mid-Autumn Festival gala, embracing the origin and celebratory spirit of this joyous occasion. Let's delve into the origins of the festival and the memorable festivities that unfolded.

Origin of the Mid-Autumn Festival:

Rooted in ancient Chinese folklore, the Mid-Autumn Festival holds a tale of love, loyalty, and unity. Legend has it that long ago, an archer named Houyi saved the world by shooting down nine of the ten suns that scorched the Earth. As a reward, he was given a magical elixir of immortality. However, Houyi's wife, Chang'e, accidentally consumed the elixir and ascended to the moon, becoming the Goddess of the Moon. To commemorate their love and pray for good fortune, people came together on the fullest moon of the year—during the Mid-Autumn Festival—to celebrate and offer sacrifices to the moon.

As the festival progressed, the air was filled with melodies of traditional Chinese music, performed by talented musicians. The sounds of the guzheng, erhu, and pipa resonated harmoniously, creating an enchanting ambiance. The melody transported everyone back in time, evoking a sense of nostalgia and cultural pride.

The highlight of the evening was a spectacular mooncake tasting, showcasing a vast assortment of flavors and designs. Each bite of the exquisite delicacies—filled with lotus seed paste, red bean, or even innovative modern ingredients—offered a delicious indulgence and a sense of togetherness.
